At SOLVE Nepal, we focus on centering the voices and experiences of those most impacted by the climate crisis, amplifying their demands for a resilient and safe world. Climate change exacerbates existing inequalities, with devastating effects on lives, livelihoods, and cultural connections to the natural world. In Nepal, the impacts are particularly severe, with communities facing increased floods, landslides, melting glaciers, and changing weather patterns that threaten agriculture and food security. Rapid glacier melting, in particular, poses significant risks to downstream communities, leading to glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) and disrupting water supplies for millions of people who depend on these glaciers for their water resources.
Through our advocacy efforts, we push for financial solutions to Loss & Damage, demand debt cancellation for the poorest nations, and hold rich countries accountable to their obligations under the Paris Agreement, particularly in providing support for adaptation and mitigation.
Our work in Nepal focuses on building community resilience by promoting sustainable agricultural practices, climate-adaptive infrastructure, and reforestation initiatives that mitigate the effects of climate change. We collaborate with local communities to implement innovative adaptation strategies, such as water conservation techniques, climate-resilient crop varieties, and measures to address the threats posed by glacier melt, which help them withstand environmental challenges. SOLVE Nepal advocates for transformative, inclusive, and people-centered national climate action plans, emphasizing the need for a just transition across all sectors. We ensure that governments deliver ambitious climate targets that address both short-term and long-term vulnerabilities, keeping global warming below 1.5ºC.
By empowering communities, enhancing disaster preparedness, and supporting sustainable livelihoods, SOLVE Nepal contributes to a more resilient future. We believe in collaborative efforts that engage civil society and create long-lasting, equitable change for the most vulnerable populations. Join us in making a meaningful impact on climate justice and building a safer, more sustainable future for Nepal.
Biodiversity Conservation through SOLVEN Nepal

Social Awareness through SOLVEN Nepal Nepal is a country rich in diverse cultures, traditions, and ethnicities. While this cultural wealth is a source of pride, it can also create barriers to development when certain practices become outdated or hinder progress. At SOLVEN, we are committed to promoting social awareness by encouraging the shift from conservative, restrictive traditions to more modern, inclusive, and scientifically informed practices.
Our Approach: Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity: Nepal’s vast array of cultural traditions is something we respect deeply. However, we recognize that certain cultural practices may impede social development, particularly in areas such as education, gender equality, and healthcare. SOLVEN works closely with communities to raise awareness about the importance of embracing progressive, scientific approaches without losing the essence of their cultural identity. Empowering Communities through Education: One of our key focus areas in social awareness is educating people about the benefits of modern practices. By providing workshops, training sessions, and community dialogues, we emphasize the importance of scientific advancements, human rights, and gender equality. We also highlight the value of balancing tradition with modernity to build a more prosperous and inclusive society. Replacing Conservative Practices: Certain conservative traditions, such as gender-based discrimination, caste-based exclusion, and outdated agricultural methods, can be barriers to development. SOLVEN aims to replace these with progressive and scientifically sound practices. We promote gender equality, advocate for inclusive policies, and encourage the adoption of modern agricultural techniques that align with environmental conservation and sustainable development. Creating Awareness about Health and Hygiene: In many rural areas, traditional beliefs can prevent access to proper healthcare and hygiene. SOLVEN's health awareness programs focus on educating communities about the importance of modern medical practices, vaccinations, and hygiene measures. By challenging outdated health practices, we aim to improve overall wellbeing and reduce preventable diseases. Youth as Agents of Change: Our work is heavily focused on youth participation, as we believe they are the key drivers of social transformation. We empower young people to question conservative norms, adopt modern values, and act as change-makers within their communities. Through leadership programs and awareness campaigns, we equip them with the tools to lead their communities toward progressive thinking. Collaboration with Local Leaders: We work with local leaders, schools, and religious institutions to encourage open dialogues on the benefits of modern scientific knowledge. By fostering trust and collaboration, SOLVEN ensures that these changes are embraced organically and that community members understand the benefits of adopting modern practices while still respecting their cultural roots. Our Vision: Through our social awareness programs, SOLVEN strives to create a Nepalese society that is open to new ideas, scientific progress, and human rights while cherishing the positive aspects of its rich cultural diversity. By replacing restrictive conservative practices with modern, forward-thinking approaches, we aim to build a society that is inclusive, equitable, and ready to meet the challenges of the future.
Solve Nepal actively promotes Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to bridge the digital divide in Nepal. Our work focuses on enhancing digital literacy and ensuring that communities have access to modern communication tools, especially in rural and marginalized areas. We collaborate with educational institutions, government agencies, and local communities to foster the use of ICT in education, governance, agriculture, and economic development. Some of our major projects include the development of the 'Nepali Krishi' mobile app, designed specifically for the peasants of Nepal. This app empowers peasants by providing vital information on modern farming techniques, weather forecasts, crop pricing, and access to agricultural resources. We have also conducted numerous educational training programs in rural schools, helping students and teachers integrate digital tools into their curriculum. Additionally, our digital literacy programs have focused on women, marginalized groups, and peasants, equipping them with the skills to use mobile devices and the internet for personal and economic development. Moreover, Solve Nepal has implemented ICT in Agriculture programs that train peasants to use digital tools to improve their farming practices. Through these programs, peasants are taught how to use the internet to search for information on agriculture, connect with markets, and access vital resources. We have helped numerous peasants learn how mobile technology can improve their productivity, connect them to broader networks, and increase their access to valuable information.
